OM-D "changing" RAW files in Viewer 2?
Feb 21, 2013

My understanding was that an RAW/ORF file was unaffected by camera settings, and that using a conversion program (in this case Viewer2) to convert and save as a TIFF without implementing any changes would act the same as running RAW files through ACR in Photoshop for Nikon/Canon/Sony etc ... you'd get all the data unmitigated in the conversion.

I just did, and lo and behold, here are two TIFF files converted that way but they are different.  I want the RAW/ORF files converted, but not changed. What am I doing wrong?

EXIF data shows these two center crops from the RAW/ORF > TIFF are the same for aperture/speed, WB and ISO... the only difference is in-camera JPEG settings.
