I think there's room for the D400

Well, if this is legit, it seems D400 is not in the cards. And if Canon's 7DII as specd is real, I see a lot of action and nature shooters moving ...

I am not so sure, because 24mp without AA Filter must be stellar(look on the merril3!) 7 fps in 1,3 cropp mode sounds also not so bad! I have the feeling there is a D400 in the pipeline, because Nikon will not be the brand with the slowest dx body. I am 100% sure the D400 will come mid summer with the new (20mp sony?) sensor and 10fps in a real pro body for +- $2000.-

The US release does not mention it as "flagship". Nor does the UK site:

http://www.europe-nikon.com/en_GB/news_room/news_releases_main.page?Period=New&Quarter=0&SY=0&ID=templatedata\en_GB\news_article\data\GB-NR-2102132

I think that 6fps and small buffer is not what a flagship would carry, there's room for the D400, for sure. And the price gap from D7100 and D600, 900USD MSRP, is just too much for Nikon to leave for other makers to fill (7D2).
