Nikon D7100 will kill Panasonic GH3

The market of truly technically excellent camera's is incredibly saturated right now. Look at the current state of products *today* compared to say 4 years ago. How about the global economy and state of affairs with consumer trends (i.e. DPR Connect)?

The truth is, all the camera companies are killing each other. I'd have to say Canon, the one that has technically been the most conservative and to the gearhead stalled...is also probably the best off in finances. How much R&D and engineering did Canon have to spend to tune jpeg engines to the *few* sensors they produce all of the same breed compared to Nikon which has sourced sensors from all over (just look at the D3200/D5200/D7100 sensor line-up...*each* one different and unfortunately the D5100/D7000 is *arguably* just as technically good for all intents and purposes for *most* people)? To the gearhead its droolworthy and innovative...to the investor its a huge waste of money to satisfy a niche market of measurebators for which no real difference is made as the only thing in the end that matters is *regular* consumer satisfaction with their photos, not measurebator satisfaction.

Nikon has *way* to many competing DSLRs...with *itself*. Canon throws in stupid things that stupid consumers like such as touchscreen/wi-fi/gps, etc. But its a great time to be a consumer *now* as they continue to do rebates and firesales, but what will eventually happen is this time of innovation might stall and we all enter the 'boutique' camera industry where prices for gear is made high due to all of them adjusting to produce less supply and competitors start to drop out.

MFT and mirrorless is also in the heat of things because no matter how great they are, they are still mostly like cult classic movies...appreciated by few still.

GoPro was a huge success and it wasn't because of anything to do with how much DR or MPs the sensor had. New consumer cameras need to be far more innovative and really expand in some new way instead of just better high ISO and DR.

If Apple made a DSLR, I'd think they'd build in video tutorials into an EVF that teaches the consumer everything about the exposure triangle, etc and have unlimited tethering possibilities with iPad/iPhones and have perhaps more consumer friendly PP work.
