Wording doesn't look professionally written

I might need a back up soon to my D7000...this looks promising

My opinions are my own and not those of DPR or its administration. They carry no 'special' value (except to me and Lacie of course)

I might be proven wrong in a few hours, but this does not look like it was written by a professional copy-writer. Examples:

  • "Building on the acclaimed autofocus system from the D300s" I don't think Nikon has ever referenced a new camera against an old camera, and as advertising copy goes, it's a bit of a no-no. If the D300s is acclaimed, what does that make the D7000? The choice of wording invites an unintentional comparison. Also, if it's the D7100, they would surely have framed it as an improvement of the D7000, not a continuation of the D300s
  • "central cross-type sensor works all the way down to f/8" "all the way down" is colloquial phrasing
  • "... a huge advantage for everything from self portraits...etc" This is a run-on sentence. Also, "huge" is aweak modifier that doesn't belong there.
  • "And, of course, every shot looks great through a Nikkor lens." Starting a sentence with "and", colloquial phrasing, improper use of comma, sentence is not an independent clause
  • "Durable magnesium alloy protects..." mixed ideas, no-sequitor sentence. Phrasing makes it so that the metal alloy is moisture and dust resistant, but no mention of sealing.

Nice try, but if this is a real Nikon press release, then I might even be more disappointed by this than the on-gong wait for the D400. I think the words "wish fulfillment" come to mind...
