So the new 70-400G should be atleast as fast as the new 300G F2.8 with SSM2.
Boy that 300 2.8 II was fast!
I briefly tested original 300 2.8 G on A99 and it was as fast (or ever so slightly faster) as 70-400G. In real life I have no problem AF tracking moving subject.
I guess it's all depending on street pricing, if the new 70-400 selling for $2200-2300 I might upgrade, otherwise I am perfectly contend with my silver version.
