Hi Kev,

I don't recall any difference between the OVF and EVF on the X100, but I haven't had one for a long time.  I know the firmware has been updated several times.  Regarding the X-Pro1; there is definitely a difference in the speed of the AF capture between the OVF and EVF.  I think if you search this forum you will find a number of threads related to "improving the AF speed" on the X-Pro1 and the EVF vs OVF is usually one of the main "improvements".  I've used my X-Pro1 a LOT for my street work and I can say with certainty that the AF is much better and quicker when using the EVF on the X-Pro1.  Although the OVF was one of the original attractions in purchasing the camera, it doesn't offset the AF advantage of the EVF for my style of shooting.  In addition, the inaccuracy of the OVF for framing can be an issue.  I finally just gave up on the OVF and have learned to be quite happy with the EVF.
