Hi all,

I am planning to buy a telephoto lens for birding but getting confused between Tamron SP 200-500MM F/5-6.3 Di LD (IF) and Sigma 150-500mm F5-6.3 APO DG OS HSM. I already own a Tamron SP 70-300MM F/4-5.6 Di VC USD. Can 1.4x or 2x Extender considered as an option?

My budget is around 1300-1500$. Please suggest.

Thanks,

Prashant Bande.

TC's aren't really an option, because the AF won't work on your 1100D. Upgrading to 18mp would give you more pixels on the subject (app. the same as if using a 1.22x TC). Have you considered a superzoom like the SX50 (with a 24-1200mm equivalent lens)?
