When the A55 was introduced, it was meant to appeal to mid and high level users.
Then.. They introduced the a57 and a77. In order to push high end users to the more expensive camera, they downgraded the a57 in some ways such as removing GPS.

Now.. With the a58, it does feel like a partial upgrade, while further downgrading in order to push higher end users to the a7s and a9s.

The best burst rate was the a55 which did 10fps at full resolution.
Now, the a58 cuts that in half-- only 5fps at full resolution. No better than traditional entry level dslrs. (The Canon 4ti has the same rate).
Is there a technological reason for the limit? Or more likely, an artificial limit.
Feels like they are discontinuing the a3s, so the a58 will be the entry level model. There will be a a68 or a78 with the larger articulated LCD screen, the faster burst rate.

I probably won't upgrade from my a55... Though I am very very curious about seeing dxomark scores of the new sensor.
