Flash Bracketing and Blending
|
Hi,
When I want to take pictures of people at night with city scape backgrounds I often don't have enough light to expose the people in the picture. If I turn on the flash on the other hand all the lights in the background get yellow. Typical mixed light problem.
I got an idea on how to overcome this: Why not shoot the same scene once with flash and once without and then combine/blend the two pictures in photoshop.
I am sure I am not the first one to come up with this and I have tried googling this, but couldn't find anything. Can someone tell me what the common name for this technique is and how well it would work?
I just got the nex 5R and you can get an app Bracket Pro, which allows you to take a picture with the flash and without. I am thinking this might make it possible to shoot pictures like that even without a tripod.
What do you guys think?
Greetings, Kim
