Nice work, but I think they could be better.   Right now I'm wondering if these were JPGs (figure they must be with the EX tele thing), and about your processing.    Tripod?  Exposure specs?

I'm being hypercritical, mind you.   I'd have killed to get shots like that at one point in time.   These look like they're under challenging light, and these guys are not like shooting fish in a barrel.  You did very good, and you should keep at it afaic.

Unfortunately once one tastes real fine feather detail, it spoils one forever.   Birds for me are a subject for when it's opportune.  If I were a REAL birding enthusiast I'd be working with a DSLR, or at least a DSLR lens (a Canon EF 400/5.6 on a GH2 can be awesome).   To explain the hypercritical posture, and maybe some other less than fawning reactions in-topic, that is.

I've had only a little opportunity with this lens and birds, decent results on a tripod with RAW and delicate developing on a significant crop, but I need more feather time with it to speak of it with more authority.

Anyway, about those exposure specs and technique. . . ?
