The Catalpa Tree- some z990 pictures

My Apartment is in a complex in the village of Nunda, NY. In its earlier years, Nunda was in the heartland of the Seneca Indian Nation ( Native Americans). Since moving here, I have wandered around, camera in hand, visiting some of the old historical sites. In my travels, I have noticed a very unusual tree that seems to be very popular here.
The tree is a Catalpa, also called the "Fish Bait Tree" and the "Bean Tree". The fish bait term comes from the fact that it attracts a form of Caterpillar that some still use for fish bait, the Bean Tree comes from the fact that it develops long bean like fruit. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catalpa
In the spring of the year this tree produces some lovely Orchid like blossoms. Nature sure does a nice packing job.
Just around the corner from my apartment I found this tree and I had the z990 with me. Below are a few pictures.Unfortunately this tree was recently cut down to make room for a expansion to a local business. Guess I will have to find another.
