Canon Powershot SX260 HS as replacement for Nikon p5100?

I fully agree with JJ. You will be satisfied with the results from the SX 260 as the perfect travelzoom.

Thanks to the HS technology even the smaller sensor is able to deliver very nice results and details - even in low light. This lens and IS are a perfect team here.

If you mainly shot in low light i.e. use ISOs higher than 200 you will probably miss some detail that only bigger sensors with RAW format are able to deliver. The results will still look fine on your 60'' screen but if you peep at full resolution there are cameras with better details, brighter lenses and much smaller zoom range for double the cost.
