Best Small Lens for Video?
|
I just ordered a carbon fiber Aviator Travel Jib, which is a very lightweight jib. The plan is to use it with a Sirui carbon fiber tripod for some run-and-gun jib video clips while traveling. I have the 18-200mm SEL lens, as well as the 18-55mm lens, the 16mm lens, and the wide-angle adapter.
As long as there are no issues with stability in using a lighter set-up, I would like to go with as light a set-up as possible. Adding weight to the camera end results in adding even more weight to the other end for counterbalancing. I anticipate that wider shots will work better.
Any suggestions for the best choice among smaller lens? Is it better for this type of set-up to have a stabilized lens or not? (The same question goes for using a slider, as I have a lightweight Varavon slider.)
