I use my dSLR like that too. The V1, however, is not a dSLR. You may find it worthwhile to re-think how you will use the V1. Just a suggestion from someone who's spent some time with this.

- the auto ISO feature is smart enough that you can rely on it, just set it to 100-3200 and go.

- the metering is positively phenominal, trying to second guess it is rarely worth the effort. (Though the EV adjustment is quick, easy, and - most important - highly visible.)

- A mode is fine, but P mode with program shift and auto ISO works out to pretty much the same thing, with the added bonus that the camera will better take care of itself in lower light. This is harder to explain than to do: basically in program auto you take out the camera and it works out the "best effort" ISO, aperture and shutter. If you want to adjust the aperture, just toggle the program shift and the V1 will adjust the ISO and shutter speed to match. It practice I find this more fluid than forcing the aperture on power up to a pre-set value regardless of the light level.
