London is a great city to photograph... whether it's the 21st century buildings (the Gurkin and the new city hall) or the 16th century buildings near Jack the Ripper's stomping (killing grounds)... hell the Tower is a 10th century structure!... also a great place to photograph people... it's a very cosmopolitan city!

As an American (and I don't know how you're crossing the Channel) you really should consider visiting the Normandy invasion beaches... from the American cemetery at Omaha Beach to the tiny towns that cost so much blood to liberate... it is heart warming to see how the locals honor the sacrifices of our fathers... and the area offers amazing pictures, escpecially if you can get to Mont St. Michele, the town wrapped around a conical island in the tidal estuary (on the border between Normandy and Brittany) -if you don't rent a car you can get most places by train - thank God for the French rail system!

Paris is a winner no matter where or what you shoot... it's Paris! But I have to say my wife's favorite place is the Paris catecombs... where else can you come face to face (well skull) with more than four Million Parisians (all dead!) who are at least 300 years old and some more than 500 years old!  It's truly a mind-bending adventure to see the City of the Dead more than 90 feet below modern day Paris!

Good luck and have a great trip!
