Epson 3880 LCD symbols.
Feb 19, 2013

I just decided to pay attention to some symbols showing in the lower left corner of my year-old 3880. They may have been showing since the printer was new, not sure, but they've been there for a while.  The printer seems to be working normally.   I could find no description of them in the Users Manual.

These appear from left to right, before the symbols showing the ink cartridge levels:

First is a rectangle (like a page in portrait position) with "No.1" written above.  Next are the letters "PG" followed by a symbol that looks like a vertical line with four horizontal-stubs coming out of the right side of the line: one each at the top and bottom, and 2 equally-spaced in-between.

I'm running Epson ink, set for Photo Black right now.

Anybody know what it means?

Wondering if this is bad news, good news, or no news.

Thanks.
