I think that's the root of the idea here. Current cameras pretty much have all the resolution, sharpness, color accuracy and low light capability that anyone would ever need in normal shooting situations. The people who need more are those shooting in specialized areas like shooting planes or birds in flight or shooting sports events or concerts from a distance in low light.
