goiing from 10mp to 16mp has made some big differences, the newer sensors have much better noise control and react better to noise reduction, i can crop if need be much more freely and the newer sensors have better DR.

I'm in two minds about the better technique thing so far, i have had some great results with marginal shutter speeds and ok lenses and some poor results with fast shutter speeds and good lenses. My 100mm macro does look amazing when used on a tripod, but it was manually focused and lit to suit. I'll be taking it to Thailand with me next week (D5100) so i'll get a real chance to get a good idea with it
