500 II w/Sidekick - Plate or Foot?
|
I've been mounting my 300mm f2.8 on a Gitzo 3532LS, a Kirk BH-1 ballhead, and a Wimberly Sidekick, using a Kirk lens plate. I just ordered a new 500mm f4L II and I'm trying to decide whether to order a RSS replacement foot or just get a lens plate. My biggest concern with the replacement foot is whether I'll be able to carry the lens by the foot in cold weather wearing gloves. Any thoughts based on experience?
