I had supposed the more Mpxl the more evident any error you do is, so you needed only the "right" Mpxl.

Other than the overhead, it is always better to capture more information and downsize, everything else being equal. For one thing noise grain is finer. Think of higher resolution as more signal. The more the signal the better the signal to noise ratio.
