I'm going skiing in northern Sweden next week, first time with OM-D. I have used it in cold weather around here without any problems so I guess it will work good in the mountains as well. The buttons are small and with gloves on they are even smaller, but I sort of get used to it.

I have used all kinds of cameras in winter conditions since the 60s and I never got any problems. Sometimes when you step indoors from -25 degrees outside there will be some condense on the front lens element (or filter if I have one but I usually don't) but after a while it's gone. Never noticed any problems inside any camera. I think people worry too much about that. If you want to feel real safe you can always keep it in a bag for a while.

Batteries can be a problem in cold, but I have very seldom noticed that except from extreme cold weather. I use to have one battery in the camera and one in a pocket as close to my body as possible, but I have almost never needed to exchange it during a day of skiing in cold.
