Are Nikons made in Thailand now?

I am in Australia and I saw both cameras in my local camera shop back in November 2012:

D800 are made in Japan.

D600 are made in Thailand.

Nikon (and Canon, Pentax, Olympus, Sony etc...etc...etc...) shift their production to  China, Vietnam, Thailand to cust cost.  The labour there are much cheaper than Japanese labour.

If you insist on Made in japan only, then buy D800, 14-24mm nikkor,  24-70mm nikkor and 70-200mm nikkor.   I believe those top-of-the-line lenses are still made in japan.

But then, not all of us have the money.  Do you?
