Nikon responds- "rapid deterioration in the market occurred and fiercer competition"

My statement stands.  Nikon would sell more cameras if they had a good offering for action shooters in addition to the other cameras they offer.

I have no idea why people who don't shoot action want to spend so much time trying to convince everyone else that there is no demand for an affordable camera optimized for shooting action.  That would be like me trying convince you that very few people actually need the high res of a D800 just because I don't need it.  I'm not pooping on the D800 or trying to shoot it down for what it is.  It's fine for what it is and those who want it, but it isn't an action camera by any stretch of the imagination.
