An update on my primary wildlife body poll at Nikonians...

D300/s 35%
D7000 20%
D800/E 18%
D4 12%
D3s 8%
D3/D700 7%
A couple of points: preference for a faster camera (62% at 8 fps or more with grip) seems stronger than preference for DX (55%). However, the top three cameras (73%) offer more reach than the bottom three (27%). So, I think we can conclude that wildlife photographers are looking for reach and speed. Contrary to some of the representations here only 20% have opted for a non-pro camera without 51 point autofocus. Of course this makes perfect sense given the large investment in lenses. Why spend that kind of money and go cheap on the body?
