Canon 70-200 F2.8 IS II or 70-200 F4 IS + 85mm F1.8
Feb 18, 2013

Just got my 5D Mark III Kit (24-105 lens) and trying to add additional lenses. I am thinking of getting 70-200 F2.8 II IS. However due to the high ISO capabilities of 5D Mark III, I am wondering whether 70-200 F4 IS is fine for me or not. I will not be utilizing this camera for any indoor sports. There may be some indoor events that I will be shooting (occasionally) - not sports.

I am just wondering whether F4 IS is good enough for that and I may add a Canon 85mm F1.8 or 100mm F2 lens for some indoor portraiture. Main reasons for trying to choose this -  money and less weight to carry. I am also thinking of adding a Sigma 35mm F1.4 or 50mm F1.4 lens and any savings will be huge beneficial.

Could someone please give their opinions and experiences on these lenses?
