hi Siegfried,
it looks like many of us "Canon to M4/3 converts" have kept a 7D in a closet, just in case the odd occasion comes up requiring efficient continuous AF and a body to go with sharp superteles.
Add my name to the list, and also the remark "and very satisfied of having sold the 1DsmkIII and wide to short tele L glass and kept the 7D with the 400DO L IS".
I live in a rice growing area of northern Italy for most of the year and there are moments where taking pictures of water fowl is great fun, and that's where the 7D + 400DO come in handy.
M4/3 not only lacks continuous AF but also a new generation of sharp (zoom or prime) fast superteles to go with.
Something in the league ot the Pan 35-100/2.8 or the Oly 75/1.8 but in the range 100-250/4 or fixed 200/2.8 or 250/4, rather than the Pan 100-300/4-5.6 or the Oly 75-300/4.8-6.7 which are on the whole good lenses but have only average microcontrast in the long end.
So until these dreams come true, if you have occasions of sports or wildlife in your agenda keep the 7D, but only with a good Canon tele, from the EF 400/5.6L upwards. If you have let go of the good Canon teles than non reason to keep the 7D. In my opinion.
Thanks for the occasion of making my own mind clear and for browsing through your interesting site and contents,
Regards, Vittorio
