It's the head and shoulder shots that I'm all about. The 50mm f1.8 canon lens (was only 100 bucks) is absolutely amazing for portraits but I rarely have the camera with me when I want to take portraits! I'm just trying to strike the best balance between portability and versatility. Maybe I should look at the xe-1 and x-pro 1 and just get a 35mm prime to start me off? is the 18-55mm fuji lens decent? I really wanted to go all prime this time around but I don't know if that'll be possible due to the cost of the lenses.
The 18-55mm is an excellent quality lens. Quite large but versatile.
