Nikkor 18.5mm f/1.8 BOKEH

These two display what I consider smooth and pleasing bokeh. The second, becouse of much further away focus point, has less bokeh.
Because 18.5mm is a sharp lens, it often produces harsh bokeh. It is hard to strike balance between wide open sharpness and pleasing bokeh when designing a lens. Lenses legendary for their bokeh are all rather soft wide open. Makes sense, doesn't it? If the lens is soft, so is the bokeh. But this isn't necessarily a bad thing, if you like the "dreamy" look.
The below photo shows what happens when there is foliage in the background.

Opposite of creamy and smooth.
