1. Contax G 35/45/90 are lightyears ahead of any SLR lenses in sharpness, contrast and color rendition.
2. The Olympus OM lenses are as good, if not better, than anything from Canon and Nikon, especially the f2 lenses. They also tend to be smaller. The 21/2, 21/3.5, 28/2, 28/2.8, 35/2, 35/2.8, 50/1.2, 50/1.4, 50/2 macro, 90/2 macro and 100/2 are all particularly good.
I have the Canon 35/2 and 55/1.2--they're ok, but not spectacular. I have the Konica 21/4, which is good, but no better than the Olympus OM 21/3.5, and much heavier, the 40/1.8, meh, and the 50/1.7, ditto.
Generally, in focal lengths in which you can use rangefinder lenses, I.e., 35 to 90 mm, they will be much sharper and better corrected than SLR lenses.
I would challenge the assertion that RF lenses are "much" better than SLR ones. Admittedly, the Contax G 35/45/90 are perhaps the best as a group of any 3 such moderate focal lengths for 35mm. However, the superiority lies not so much in design as in the superb specs and quality control exercised by Zeiss. Above 35mm, there is little difference in optical design between RF and SLR lenses. The 45mm G is a double Gauss like all normal 50ish-mm SLR lenses.
When you get down to individual lenses, the 35mm G is about the same quality as the best SLR lenses, and the sharpest 90mm ever made, according to Photodo, is the Tokina 90mm F2.5, an SLR lens (and an optical clone of the Vivitar Series 1 90/2.5, probably the sharpest lens I ever used).
Where RFs had an advantage in the film era was in wide angles, because they could use symmetrical designs rather than retrofocus ones. However, symmetricals do not perform well on digital sensors.
