I think it's a great camera for an "old woman' or old man. You can crank up the ISO so you don't need stabilization. It's a 35mmm and lightweight - other reasons for not needing stabilization. When using manual focus, when you turn the focus ring it zooms in as an aid for focusing. This really helps for old eyes! Cheers, Alex.
