Canon PIXMA PRO-100 or keep Epson Artisan 1430?
Feb 16, 2013

I just got home from Staple with an Epson Artisan 1430.

And of course after I got home I found this forum and found out that (at) lex has the PIXMA PRO-100 for $4000 plus a free 50 pack of Pro Luster 13X19 photo paper and free UPS ground shipping.

I opened the Epson but I still haver 14 days to return it.

I only have a handful of grey scale images to print so the extra grey inks on the Canon would be of very limited benefit to me.

On the other hand the Canon does have a user replaceable print head.

And my last Epson printer about nine or ten years ago died a very sudden and ugly death.

I'm very nervous about coming back to Epson after all this time.

Have Epson finally cured their printers of the head clogging they used to suffer from?

Does any one think the Canon would be worth the extra $100 for an advanced amateur who prints the occasional 13X19?
