Before you send it back, do a shootout first on daylight ducks and chickens in your backyard and some macro without converter. Equalize the aperture at f/5.6 on the longend and same shutterspeed and ISO.

So you want me to purposely cripple the FZ200 by taking it away from it's sweet spot of f/4?...if I shoot them it is going to be with my settings as I want to see the absolute best output from both at optimal settings in "my" hands...if one wants to look at equal settings take Image Resource or DP Review...I want to see if I can get the optimal output in jpeg from the X-S1 and I have already increased it some...

That is fine as long as you will hold the X-S1 steady or put them on a tripod coz I don't trust your good ole hands lol.
