Just received my new T3 and kit lens. Is there any way to set camera default so as to leave the focus point selection on 'manual' at all times. Apparently after you confirm focus acquisition, you can no longer move the focus point again, unless of cause you re-press the selector button. This kind of becomes a nuisance.

Can you explain the situation where you would want to do this?

Normally you would focus and recompose, or just select the desired AF point initially and use that one. Are you using the viewfinder or Live View?

Good judgment comes from experience.

Using Viewfinder.

Situation where I would want to do this is very simply after I take a shot. If you want to re-select a different focus point, you need to press button again allowing you to re-toggle. Once again this is a two step process. Not complaining as this is indeed a very nice lower end DSLR...just hope I don't have a bad unit, and someone else can confirm.
