Are you concerned about Nikon longterm?

Nikon say that in 2013 73.5% of their total sales will come from their Imaging group (cameras, camera lenses, camera accessories) - so all their other product lines (steppers, binoculars, rifle scopes, microscopes, etc ) are a fairly small part of the business and they are far less diversified than  the other major Japanese camera manufacturers.

Yes, Nikon need to improve their QC and service - and to communicate better. They once had a stellar reputation for quality and service - but this has really fallen recently and their main competitor seems to be doing better in this area.  I'm sure a large percentage of purchasers  choose Nikon because of the reputation Nikon built up over more than 50 years - and they can't afford to loose that.
