A few words about AA-filters...
In reply to nixda, 4 months ago

"To omit an alias filter in front of a digital image sensors is like building a sports car with no brakes. Of course, the car accelerates a little faster due to the lower weight and the cornering ability is also better due to the smaller unsprung weight - but ultimately it lacks an essential functional element."

"Digital cameras without aliasing filters are cameras with a built-in design flaw!"

These are false statements...  The great majority of the (studio) professionals still using MF format with large CCD sensors for the most critical jobs in photography. Which one of them is with AA-filter?

Those using Leicas, Ricohs, Faveons may chime in. My D800E has covered a long way into thousands of frames, only three cases were with Moire and they were "taken care of" in Capture One.

Elimination of AA-filters improves resolution (around 10% by Nikon) besides adding a certain crispness and a slight microcontrast different than what is to be obtained by the sharpness sliders of the converters. I am sure Fujifilm engineers have decided for such configuration after a loooong testing and evaluation process.
