It is no coincidence that African Civilization is always centered around the great trading cities that drew outside influence from the time of the Pharos. (who by the way were Africans)

Don't forget, Africa is a HUGE continent and extends from almost 37' LAT North to about 34' LAT South...and with many mountain ranges, deserts, equatorial jungle, savanna, etc...has a wide range of geographical environs and different climates, etc.

Egypt (Cairo-pyramids) is situated near to the northern extreme on the 30' LAT N so it's "almost" entering that 35' - 55' LAT most productive/developed/technological human zone.

We didn't see the establishment of "agriculture" until around 9000 BCE) or the Mesopotamia-Babylon region...which of course is also around the 35' LAT N level.

No, I don't think so...

Oh yeah, All of Trans Saharan Africa was a much more hospitible place at the end of the last Ice Age. (maybe even during the same.)

We certainly can not discount weather as an influence on the rise and fall of civilizations.

Same with the pepeating patterns of migration from Central Asia.

The Steppes have to be pretty hospitible for a couple centuries to support the numbers of People who moved out of them every four or five hundred years.

Same with the rise and fall of the Central American civilizations, about a six hundred year cycle.

Weather counts big in the history of Man.
