I have seen this very case before, and it was not OEM. Perhaps it was a knock-off of an OEM case, but I have been unable to find any such OEM case on the Fuji website or on sites like Adorama.
It is an OEM case (SC-P10). Was released only for the Japanese market (that's where I bought mine). You can get them on eBay now.
It's a very soft supple leather and is just designed to prevent scratches when thrown in a bigger bag or glove-box etc. Magnetic clasp means its very quick to whip the camera out for a shot.
