I'm usually carrying a man-bag/murse anyway, so if I plan on shooting often, I remove the top lid, put it in my man-bag, and just use the half-case.
Oh, and mine is a fake. It cost me $20-30, and it's great.

I too have the hard leather case (the expensive Fuji one, though) and quite like it. Like you, I can use the camera in half-case mode in order to be always ready to shoot, while keeping the top half in my satchel (much better term than "man-bag"!), which I have with me almost always.
However, I can see a need to use a soft case at times, and so have purchased the Fabretti case. Thanks to the OP for bringing it to our attention!
