G1X vs Nikon P7100

Not really "vs" just wondering: I have a P7100 (G12 clone)in addition to my Nikon DSLRs. I really like it but of course it acts like a point and shoot...most of the time, only with great IQ.
I won't go into details about why I think it handles like a point and shoot. If some of you on this forum shoot with a DSLR but also a Canon point and shoot, you know what I'm talking about.
Which brings me to the G1X. Does it in fact handle like a point and shoot with a big sensor? Meaning, slow continuous shooting, slow shot to shot time, slowish lens, sketchy focusing, lots of "point and shoot" type shortcomings but, and this is a big but, stellar big sensor IQ.
IOW, if I like my P7100 so much (and I guess you if like your G12 as much) is shooting with a G1X sort of the same (not really DSLR-like) but with superior IQ (low light/high ISO performance, dynamic range, etc). So much better IQ that it overcomes its shortcomings, to put it one way.
