5D III Video Tips?
Feb 14, 2013

I've just received my new 5D III which I purchased for my event photography work. I'm still practicing with it and discovering how to use it properly. I really didn't plan on using the video feature much, if at all.

Then my wife asks me last night if I can video a school special she's doing in her classroom, so I say "of course, you know that expensive new camera I just got, it shoots video".

SO, any helpful hints on how to video using this camera appreciated. Keep in mind, this is for personal use. Being a complete newbie, I wouldn't think of asking clients to pay me for taking video. The school video is really just for her personal files. It won't be aired for audiences or put on a web site or anything.

I have a good sturdy manfrotto tripod and decent monopod. I have 50mm f1.8,  85 f/1.8,  24-105L, 70-200 f/2.8 II.  This particular shoot will be indoors with primarily fluorescent light. I don't have hot lights.

(side question: why is it still called video?)
