Joe,

I won't open that old thread where we met but the more I think of it the more I come to the conclusion that my problem was capping pad orientated.

I have not had a complete answer yet from Jon Cone but he told me that the Chinese refillables have a different design to the OEM cartridges and are more prone to having ink sucked out of the cartridge by capililary action sourced from ink in the capping station. It could have been the cause of my nasty flood and the fact that each time I did a nozzle clean the muck moved from one nozzle to the next.

I'd never cleaned my capping pad/station in the whole time I have been using the R2400. The OEM inks lived with the muck - the Chinese jobbies can't hack it.

Tomorrow my 3880 arrives. Sunday my R2400 hopefully finds a new owner on eBay.

And I promise to clean my 3880 once a month like a good photographer !!

Bye for now.

Tony
