Advice on converting a 400D to IR

Hi,
I have upgraded from a 400D to a 6D and am considering converting the 400D to IR. I know you can send it to a company in Great Britain and get it done but I have heard that it is easy to do it yourself.
Any tips are welcome. Has anyone here perhaps done the same thing? Any links to tutorials etc...
