since i have problems using ghost to save my systempartition(windows plus programs) onto the external eSATA-drive i would like to know which backup-program to you use.

the problem is that my pc is hanging when esata-drive is recognized at start.

it has to be shutt off druing start for normal use.

Driver and drive-manager is properly installed. i also have a my book essentila usb-drive which is shutdown during the procedures.

Using usb-drives is too slow. Using firewire does not work eighter. my esata-drive is Western Digital

My Book Home(usb, firewire, eSata).

Since you are using a Western Digital drive, you could download and use the free 'Acronis True Image WD Edition Software' .

Seagate-Maxtor offer the same thing too, for owners of their drives, called 'Seagate Disk Wizard' .

...each of the above, are OEM versions of 'Acronis True Image' (reduced functionality, and only work if you have one of the respective manufacturers' products connected).
