Please suggest Nikon DSLR camera for bird photography but not professional level camera. It is needed for intermediate level. Please also suggest some basic lens needed.

Thank you

I would not recommend any Nikon DSLR for bird photography on a budget because you will need at least a 400mm (or 300mm f4 with 1.4 TC), lens and those are expensive, large, and heavy. Instead I would recommend a Nikon V1 using the FT-1 adapter with an FX or DX lens. Here is a link to a birder named Malcolm Farrow, that does just that:

I have tried doing some birding with the 70-300G VR on my D7000 and found that I needed much more reach, so I bought a 120-400 Sigma lens. It's still not enough reach for my needs though, so I'm now looking at using my Nikon V1 with FT-1 adapter and a sharper 300mm f4 lens instead.

I learn something new with every reply. I wish I could use Nikon Coolpix 7100 like this V1. I appreciate your reply with link which helped me to learn something new. Thank you very much.

Your most welcome. Nikon has said they will make a "super telephoto" lens in a CX mount for the Nikon 1 cameras for use in sports and wildlife photography/. This lens has been anxiously awaited by Nikon 1 users interested in wildlife photography. If you are interested, here is a link to a recent post on the subject.
