"This exospecies (Monopoda martiae) bears some resemblance to the terrestrial grasshoppers, but with the significant difference of having only one propulsion leg. It seems to have evolved this way because, unlike on earth, the flight trajectory of these creatures is not as critical as here, and they have adapted this otherwise fraught form of flight to evade predators. They latter are unable to predict just how the sandhopper will jump."
