A "lightweight" aluminum will work as well as a heavy duty one with the 70-200mm lens and there is no point in going with carbon fiber. The Manfrotto 294 weighs about a pound and collapses to a length of 23". The head is important and the Manfrotto 234 Swivel/Tilt Monopod Head - Supports 5.5 lbs.

The only time I use a monopod at a wedding is to have my assistant hold up a Quantum Qflash that is triggered wirelessly by my camera. f2.8 zooms and VR/IS and ISO 6400 work just as well and without the greatly restricted mobility. I shoot from a coule feet above the ground to shoulder height in a series of shots during the ceremony and reception. No way to do that with a monopod (or a tripod).
