I got another 18-55 VR to use as a backup (I've had five others, they're all sold) but discovered that I got a real sharp copy this time so I've had no hesitation taking it out on "important" jobs.

This day was was not that important, just for my portfolio. I like to get up on top of parking garages and get my shots done (before security runs me off!)

I don't normally point my camera up way past vertical to get a shot but I love seeing the light reflecting off buildings so that trumps "verticals straight" sometimes.

I really like this set.  What lens you used plays no part in my appreciation.  Great lines, good, strong blocks of color, very well conceived.  I like the composition of the first the best.  The strong, red t-shaped building sort of looms over the others.  The gold-colored window frames of the shaded building are very nice.  The one flaw of note is the too bright sunny facade.  The second is very appealing with the central building being the main subject for me and the reflection of it in the building on the right is really cool.  I feel the same way when I am out shooting stuff.  Others must find my subject matter and my interest in it somewhat odd at times.  It is very nice on the rare occasion when I run into some likeminded photographers.
