Notwithstanding that you seem have to have identified a slight difference in Colour Temperature between two different units... (not an unusual occurrence in itself)..

... the "cooler image" you refer to is actually of lower CT, which most people would describe as "warmer" to view... being marginally closer to the yellow/orange end of the spectrum than the "colder" blue end..

Also, I do not know where you get the idea that one light has more "dynamic range" than the other...[???] as the wider spread of the middle tones in one histo, as compared with the other, suggests only a slightly different beam pattern falling on the grey background, (less sharp cut off)... nothing else.
