I've heard mixed opinions on the difference, but remain open minded-ish. I got LR3 very cheap as it was in its dying phase, then felt a bit peeved as I could have got 4 for exactly the same money a couple of months later.
I don't like throwing money at adobe for worthless upgrades, so do elaborate...
