Perhaps I don't understand, but the 1DX reviews point out that the camera will not auto focus at f 5.6, f4.0, f3.5, etc., even so the 61 point focus points. If so, why is this a good camera for me to photography birds if I have to manually focus my 300 mm f 2.8 and 70-200 mm f2.8 lensesdoen

Your 300/2.8L and 70-200/2.8L are both "Class A" lenses that are usable with all 61 AF sensors, including the dual-cross and high precision sensors.
